Film Sliced dissects and discusses the formal elements of cinema within an eclectic mix of some of the best films ever made.

The analysis focuses on particular film and specific cinematic element or technique from the categories of narrative, mise-en-scene, cinematography, editing, or sound. These elements are then drilled down further to discuss specific aspects such as narrative restriction, chiaroscuro lighting, point-of-view mobility, cross-cutting, and non-diegetic sound.

The aim of Film Sliced is to provide an academic environment where film scholars at any level can discuss and explore the various relationships of the film form.

Simon Rebellato is a self-confessed film nut currently completing the Bachelor of Communication, majoring in Screen Studies and Creative Writing, through the Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.
